ChangeChecks processes everything in your browser. We built it this way on purpose — your privacy shouldn't depend on trusting us.

Your text, images, and files are never sent to our servers. All comparisons happen entirely in your browser using JavaScript. You can verify this yourself — open your browser's Network tab and watch. Nothing is transmitted.

* Comparison history is saved to your browser's localStorage if enabled. It never leaves your device.
** The AI explanation feature sends only the detected changes (not your original text) to our AI provider to generate the summary. The original documents are never transmitted.

Analytics

We use web analytics that collect anonymous, aggregated data about page views and tool usage — for example, that 500 people opened the text compare tool today, or that 50 people clicked Compare. We can't see what any of them compared, only which tool and which action (compare, copy, download). No cookies, no user IDs, no session tracking, and nothing that follows you across the web.

Advertising

The free version of ChangeChecks displays non-intrusive ads served by Google AdSense. These ads may use cookies for personalisation. If you prefer no ads, upgrading to Pro removes all advertising. We never show ads inside the comparison input areas or diff output — only in dedicated ad zones around the content.

Your browser, your data

You can clear all locally stored data (comparison history, preferences) at any time by clearing your browser data for changechecks.com. We can't access or recover this data because it was never on our servers to begin with.
